I’m Gabby and I started First Crush because I love wine. It’s delicious (duh) and complex — biologically, socially, historically, etc. All the complexities that make it interesting can also make it intimidating and lead to gate-keeping. I’m not into that. The real beauty of wine is the community it creates among strangers and friends, wine newbies and wine nerds alike. We host events that make wine fun and accessible without the jargon and exclusivity. I say “we” because these events are not possible without help from friends and collaborators.

We love to collaborate with other local creatives and experiment with new concepts. We hope you learn a little something new about wine, eat some delicious food made by local folks, and maybe meet a new crush. <3

I started First Crush in 2024 following a year of hosting pop-ups with Maya Mukhopadhaya as Jadu, which is now open in JP as a café by day and soon-to-be wine bar by night. Jadu will always be our sister business. Keep an eye out for collabs!
